Can This Software Do What I Need?
IObit Uninstaller covers more than the Windows uninstall dialog, but the correct edition depends on whether you need basic removal, deep cleanup, stubborn-program handling, software relocation or ongoing software maintenance.
I want to uninstall several normal Windows programs at once
Batch software removal
SupportedThe Free edition includes batch uninstall, so multiple selected programs can be removed in one workflow without requiring PRO solely for that task.
A program has no working uninstaller or keeps leaving hidden traces
Broken uninstallers and stubborn software
Better fitPRO is the stronger fit when the job depends on the documented 4,000+ stubborn-program support, deeper hidden-leftover scanning, incomplete-uninstall fixes and broader cleanup after standard removal fails.
My system drive is crowded but I still need a large installed application
Move instead of uninstall
ConditionalSoftware Relocator can move selected installed software and associated data to another drive without reinstalling it. The feature requires at least two drives and relies on a junction at the original path, which must remain in place.
I want to remove pre-installed Windows apps and optional system components
Bloatware Remover
ConditionalBloatware Remover lists Windows Accessories, Windows Features and Windows Apps, but some entries carry Permanent or Warning tags. Review those labels before removal because the manual states that some changes cannot be restored or may affect system stability.
I want to track what a new installer changes on my PC
Installation logging
SupportedInstall Monitor records changes made during software installation. The manual provides Auto Monitor and Manual Monitor workflows, while the Free/PRO comparison assigns automatic monitoring and automatic change reversion to the PRO feature set.
I need to remove browser extensions, toolbars or unwanted notification sources
Browser cleanup
SupportedThe product can display and manage installed browser extensions and can block intrusive notification prompts. PRO adds the documented malicious and advertising plug-in detection layer.
I want one click to update every supported outdated application
Software Updater
Better fitSoftware Updater is included in the Toolbox, but the manual specifically identifies Update All as a PRO function. PRO is therefore the appropriate edition when one-click bulk updating is part of the buying reason.
I want to uninstall a Windows update
Windows Updates Uninstall
ConditionalThe Toolbox lists installed Windows Updates and allows removal, but IObit warns that uninstalling an update can cause system instability. Use this only when the update genuinely needs to be removed.
I need a Mac uninstaller
Operating-system boundary
Not supportedThe current IObit Uninstaller product and its published system requirements are for Windows. Do not buy a Windows PRO license expecting it to install on macOS.
I need full malware prevention or system-image backup
Uninstaller versus security/backup software
Different taskIObit Uninstaller can remove unwanted software and malicious browser extensions, but the documented product role is software removal and management. Continuous malware protection and full-system backup belong to different software categories.
How It Works
The main workflows start from Programs or Toolbox. Use the normal uninstall path when an application has a working entry, and move to the specialized tools only when the job requires relocation, forced removal, installation logging or Windows-component cleanup.
Uninstall a Program and Scan for Leftovers
- Open IObit Uninstaller and locate the program in Programs; use Search when the list is long, or select several programs for a batch uninstall.
- Click Uninstall and choose the available safety/cleanup options, including creating a restore point and automatically removing residual files when appropriate.
- Complete the program's uninstall process, then let IObit Uninstaller scan for remaining files and registry traces.
- Check Uninstall History later if an entry still shows “Scan for leftovers,” then run the remaining scan from that history view.
Move Installed Software to Another Drive
- Open IObit Uninstaller, enter Toolbox and launch Software Relocator; the tool scans for software that can be moved.
- Choose the source drive, select the application and its associated data, then select a destination folder on another drive.
- Start Relocate. IObit Uninstaller moves the data and creates a junction at the original location so Windows and the application can still resolve the moved files.
- Use Relocation History if you need to roll a moved application back to its original path. Do not delete the junction manually.
Remove Pre-Installed Apps and Components
- Open IObit Uninstaller and choose Toolbox → Bloatware Remover.
- Review Windows Accessories, Windows Features and Windows Apps, paying particular attention to Permanent and Warning tags.
- Select only the items you have decided to remove, then run Uninstall. Avoid treating every pre-installed component as disposable.
Log a New Installation
- Open Install Monitor inside IObit Uninstaller and choose Auto Monitor or Manual Monitor according to the edition and workflow available to you.
- For Manual Monitor, add or drag the setup file before installation so the program can log the changes produced by that installer.
- After installation, open Logged Installations to inspect the captured record and use it later when removing the monitored application.
Force Remove a Program with a Broken Uninstaller
- Launch Force Uninstall+ in IObit Uninstaller, or drag a related file/folder into the main interface.
- Select the affected program or target file and start the forced uninstall process.
- Review the related files found by IObit Uninstaller before deleting them, especially when the original uninstall registry entry is missing or damaged.
Product Interface & Workflow
The current product organizes work around Programs, Software Health, Browser Extensions, Windows Apps, Toolbox and Action Center. Version 16 also received a redesigned interface, so older approved screenshots are useful for understanding the core navigation pattern but should not be treated as an exact picture of the current build.

Compatibility & Coverage
IObit Uninstaller 16 is a Windows utility. Core program removal spans older Windows releases, while some feature areas have narrower requirements—for example, the Windows Apps category appears only on Windows 8 and later, and Software Relocator needs at least two drives.

Important Conditions & Limitations
The most important limits come from edition boundaries and from tools that make system-level or irreversible changes. Review these before treating every cleanup option as a one-click maintenance action.
Free and PRO Do Not Have the Same Cleanup Depth
Free covers core tasks such as batch uninstall, Windows app removal, drag-and-drop removal and automatic leftover cleanup. The current comparison page assigns PRO the 4,000+ stubborn-program coverage, deeper hidden-leftover scanning, incomplete-uninstall fixes, malicious-extension cleanup, automatic real-time monitoring, one-click Update All and premium support.
Software Relocation Depends on a Junction
After relocation, the original path contains a junction that points Windows and the application to the new location. The manual says this junction is essential and must not be deleted. The feature also needs at least two drives.
Bloatware Removal Can Affect Windows
Bloatware Remover can list system-facing components as well as apps. A Permanent tag means the item cannot be restored through that workflow, while a Warning tag signals that removal may cause system instability. Treat those labels as decision gates, not decorative notices.
Windows Update Removal Can Destabilize the System
The Windows Updates Uninstall tool can remove installed updates, but IObit explicitly warns that doing so may cause system instability. It is a troubleshooting tool for a specific unwanted update, not a routine space-cleaning recommendation.
File Shredder Is Designed for Irreversible Deletion
File Shredder overwrites selected data before deletion and offers multiple overwrite modes. Use it only when permanent deletion is the actual goal, because the manual describes shredded files as not recoverable by recovery tools.
Action Center Can Show Software Recommendations
The manual states that Action Center may recommend IObit software or programs from IObit partners. The panel can be hidden and shown again later if you do not want those recommendations in the normal workflow.
The Approved Gift Bundles Do Not Name the Four Gifts Here
Two approved checkout options are labeled as including four free gifts, but the supplied commercial data does not identify the individual gift products. The license comparison therefore preserves the bundle label without inventing gift names or entitlements.
Free Trial / Free Version
IObit Uninstaller 16 is offered as a Free/Freeware edition rather than only as a time-limited trial. The paid decision is whether the additional PRO cleanup, monitoring and support functions justify upgrading from those free core features.
| Area | Free edition | PRO distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Batch uninstall | Included | Also included |
| Windows app removal | Included | Also included |
| Drag-and-drop / Easy Uninstall | Included | Also included |
| Automatic leftover cleanup | Included | PRO extends cleanup depth and hidden-leftover handling |
| 4,000+ stubborn-program support | Not listed as the Free entitlement in the current comparison | Included |
| Automatic real-time installation monitoring | Not listed as the Free entitlement in the current comparison | Included |
| Update All | Software Updater is available | One-click Update All is PRO |
| Technical support | Premium support is not listed as a Free entitlement | Premium technical support is listed for PRO |
System Requirements
The current manual publishes a lightweight base requirement. Feature-specific requirements still matter: Windows Apps needs Windows 8 or later, and moving installed software requires a second drive.
| Requirement | Current value | Decision note |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 / 11 | Desktop IObit Uninstaller support as published in the current manual/download page. |
| Free disk space | 300 MB | Application requirement; relocated programs need enough free space on the destination drive. |
| Display | 1280 × 800 or higher | Minimum screen resolution listed by IObit. |
| Installer size | 32.7 MB | Current version 16.0.0.32 package size supplied for the September 9, 2026 release. |
| Software Relocator | Two or more drives | Required for moving installed software to a different drive. |
